Hi, I’m Lindsay Taylor, the heart and hands behind Vermilion Candles.

This business began in the quiet aftermath of one of the hardest moments of my life—the sudden loss of my father. Grief has a way of hollowing things out, but it can also plant unexpected seeds. For me, that seed was a candle business.

In the beginning of this journey I kept reaching for the same lighter to light my initial tester candles—my dad’s last lighter, a simple red one. I didn’t think much of it at first, but over time, that red lighter became something symbolic. It was him. It was comfort. It was the spark that lit every new beginning. That’s how the name Vermilion Candles was born—vermilion simply means red. 

Today, Vermilion Candles is a brand rooted in originality, nostalgia, and mood-driven decor. Each candle is thoughtfully crafted not just to smell amazing, but to spark feelings.
